The lawyers

Who will read your file here

A small firm means the lawyer you first speak to is the one who stays on the file. Each of us carries particular professions, and we work the hard files together.

  • Ursula Haverkamp, a smiling woman with shoulder-length brown hair and round glasses, in a black top against a pale gray wall

    Ursula Haverkamp

    Founding partner

Ursula answers the board’s hardest questions in writing, and sits beside physicians through hearings.

  • Zelda Rennick, a smiling woman with dark hair pulled up, in a beige button shirt with her arms crossed in front of a whiteboard

Zelda was a nurse before she was a lawyer. She reads a chart the way the board’s nurse reviewer does.

  • Tabitha Sutter, a smiling woman with short curly brown hair, in a pink blazer over a white top against a white wall

Tabitha takes teachers and real-estate licensees from first letter to final order, and keeps every file moving.

How a file is staffed

A partner on every file, a second reader on every response

A partner takes each file on the day it comes in. Before anything goes to a board, a second lawyer reads it cold, the way the board’s reviewer will, and marks anything that could be read two ways.

We keep the number of open files low enough that the partner you spoke to first is the one who picks up when you call back.
