Questions
What licensed professionals ask us first
Short answers. Your own file may differ, and we will tell you where.
Should I answer the letter myself?
Not before you have talked to a lawyer. The first answer becomes the record, and what you write to be helpful can be read very differently later.
What if the deadline is only days away?
Call today. Boards often agree to a short extension when a lawyer asks, but they rarely grant one after the date has passed.
Do I have to tell my employer?
It depends on your contract, your employer’s policy and your state’s rules. We read them before you decide.
Will you contact the board for me?
Yes, once you ask us to. Tell us before you reply to any call, email or visit from an investigator.
Is what I tell you confidential?
Yes. Anything you tell us about the matter, in a call or in writing, is protected. Please do not put patient, student or client information in the contact form.
Can you promise I will keep my license?
No lawyer can. We can tell you what the board can do, what usually happens in matters like yours, and what we would do to give you the best chance.
Do you take cases outside the four professions you list?
Sometimes. Send us the letter and say what you do; if another lawyer is a better fit, we will say so and help you find one.
What does the first call cost?
Nothing. We use it to understand what the letter asks and to decide together whether we are the right firm.
